Leicester City Football Club

Leicester City Football Club, founded in 1884, is an English professional football club based at the King Power Stadium. They compete in the English top-division Premier League. The football club moved to Filbert Street in 1891 and were elected to the Football League in 1894. Before using the name King Power Stadium, the football club was named Leicester City in 1919.

Since its foundation in 1992, they have won the Premier League in 2015-16 season, becoming one of six winning football clubs. They saved the relegation trend in the beginning and won the title finally. Most of newspapers commented on the win as the biggest sporting upset ever. Many bookmakers had to pay out at a large sum of money for the odds. The club have won second place in top flight, also the best performances in previous football matches. The home football kit is royal blue, matching with white shorts and white or royal blue socks. In 1983, the sponsorship logo was printed on its shirt for the first time. From 1987 to 2001, the British snack food manufacturer Walkers Crisps was the sponsor of the football club.

“The Foxes” is the most common nickname for the football club. In addition to the most common nickname, there are two more local terms used by its supporters “The Blues” and “City”. Sometimes, it is called as “The Filberts” and “The Fossils”. The image of a fox has been integrated in the club crest since 1948, because the Leicester shire is famous for foxes and fox hunting. The most common nicknamed was derived from its history.

Puma and Leicester unveiled the brand new 2017-18 Leicester football club formally, and the football team will put on the new football shirts at the end of the season. In the new season, “The Foxes” will put on royal blue football kit running in football pitch.
