Everton Football Club is one of clubs competing in the Premier League, the top league of the English football. Currently, Everton has won 15 major trophies, including nine titles of the Premier League, five championships of FA Cup and one title of UEFA Cup Winners Cup.
The first club crest was designed in 1922. Everton Lock-Up(Prince Rupert’s Tower or Prince Rupert’s Castle) was included in the badge and it was a place where local drunks and criminals were taken. The newest badge still includes the Everton Lock-Up and is accompanied by the club motto “Nil Satis, Nisi Optimum(Nothing but the best is good enough)”, “Everton” and “1878”, the year of establishment of the club.
Everton plays its home games at Goodison Park, located in Walton, Liverpool, England. It is the first major football stadium to be built in England and is the only English club arena to host a semi-final of the 1966 FIFA World Cup. Besides, Goodison Park has hosted a lot of league games since the Premier League was set up in 1992. In addition to football matches, the stadium also hosts the games of Rugby League. Football fans of Everton can visit the stadium and get access to the dressing rooms for players to feel what players feel before matches. A warm welcome awaits all visitors to Goodison Park. It must be an interesting and exciting tour.
Nowadays, football shirts are popular with crazy and loyal football fans. If you are fans of Everton, wearing the umbro shirts designed for the club will be a great way to show your support.
Based on the theme “Together Inspired”, the brand new 2017-18 away shirt aims to praise fans’ support when the club plays away games. Wayne Rooney who rejoined Everton after 13 years first wore the new away shirt for a promotional photo posted on the official website. Everton’s fans were invited to shoot the released video about the new jersey. The captain Phil Jagielka said:“The fans are very excited after seeing the new jersey. With their continuous support, the team performed well last season, so we will also go to other places in Europe in the new season. Everton has the best fans in the Premier League and they always give us incredible support. As a player, I hope I can fight with the fans, putting on the new shirt.”
This away jersey is inspired by the club badge and the iconic element on the gate of Goodison Park—Prince Rupert’s Tower that is presented in special geometric patterns.
Anthony Little, general manager of Umbro, said:“The design of the new jersey uses the traditional elements of Goodison Park. Fans can feel the familiar atmosphere even if they are on other stadiums. Thousands of fans follows the team each season, and the team will play matches in Europe in the new season. We hope to give best designs to appreciate their support.”
Like the new home jersey launched earlier, the away jersey features a small player symbolizing Dixie Dean at the back of the shirt, one of the greatest players in the history of the club.
